1960 TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Harper Lee Hardcover Dust Jacket BCE

Regular price $120.00

This is a hardcover book club edition of To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee published in 1960 by JB Lippincott & Co. The dust is in very good condition and it has been preserved in a clear archival sleeve. The binding is structurally sound.  There aren't any obvious signs of inscriptions, marginalization, or dog-eared pages.

The book was first published in 1960 and it has a long history of censorship. The book explores themes of racial injustice, gender roles, and the loss of innocence. It has been challenged for the depiction of violence, offensive language, and racism. The story is told from the perspective of 6-year-old Jean Louise Finch, whose attorney father defends Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman, in court during the Great Depression. If you are a banned book collector, this classic is an excellent addition to add to your library.
