Catch-22 is about a World War II bomber who is frustrated by the world around him. It  was banned in the town of Strongsville, Ohio in 1972 because of language in the novel which was viewed as indecent. Critics often refer to the novel as being anti-war. The main character believes that war is madness. He is astounded that men lay down their lives for vague concepts such as country, patriotism, and honor. “Catch-22” is an army regulation that stipulates a soldier's request to be relieved from duty can only be accepted if he is mentally unfit to fight. If you are a collector of banned books, Catch-22 is a great addition to your library shelf.
