Regular price $75.00

This is a 1962 SEX AND THE S1NGLE GIRL hardcover first edition third printing distributed by Radom House written by Helen Gurley Brown. The dust jacket shows some wear and has been placed in a mylar sleeve. The book's boards and binding are sound. There aren't any obvious signs of inscriptions, marginalization or dog eared pages.

The author attempted to have her own book banned in the United States.  Brown was the editor of Cosmopolitan for 32 years and continued as a guest columnist up until  age 90. So, no, she wasn’t socially conservative. In 1962 Sex and the Single Girl was viewed as  scandalous -  it advocated having sex before marriage and gave advice on how to have an affair. She failed to get it banned. It had been her promoter's idea.   Despite the failed marketing attempt, the book was still a phenomenal success. If you are a collector of banned books, this work is one you want on your bookshelf.
