1971 THE BELL JAR Sylvia Plath Hardcover Mylar Dust Jacket
This is a 1971 edition of THE BELL JAR by Sylvia Plath. It is a Hardcover published by Harper and Row. There is wear around the edges of the dust jacket however it has been preserved in a Mylar cover. There is an inscription inside the front cover. The book's boards and binding are sound. There aren't any other obvious marginalization or dog eared pages.
In the late 1970s, The Bell Jar was suppressed for not only its profanity and sexuality but for its overt rejection of the woman's role as wife and mother. For these reasons, the book was deemed unsuitable for high school students in Indiana. If you are a collector of banned books, "The Bell Jar" is a novel you want on your shelf.
