Blubber is a children's novel written by beloved author Judy Blume in 1974.  The narrator of the story is Jill Brenner, a fifth grader who joins her classmates in bullying Linda, an awkward and overweight girl. Blubber has been banned and challenged in  classrooms for a variety of reasons, including 'lack of moral tone' and for allowing 'evil behavior' to go unpunished. It also contains profanity and racial slurs. If you are a collector of banned books then this controversial book written by Judy Blume, with more than 25 novels to her credit, is one you want on your library Shelf.
