Set in the future year of 1979, it revolves around Carrie White, an unpopular high-school girl from an abusive religious household who uses her newly discovered telekinetic powers to exact revenge on those who torment her. Being a gothic horror novel, 'Carrie' has influenced American culture as it made people see the dark side of the mind of those who get bullied. If you collect banned books, then you definitely want Carrie on your library shelf.
