1977 THE CONFESSIONS OF NAT TURNER by William Styron. This is a First Edition First Printing Hardcover. It is an ex library copy with the usual markings, stickers, and stamps. It also has remainder marks at the top and bottom edges of the pages. The dust  jacket is in a mylar sleeve.

 The Pulitzer Prize-winning novel ″The Confessions of Nat Turner″ was banned from a high school library after a parent complained about sexual passages. Author William Styron said the ban is the first he had heard of against his 1966 book. Styron said the sexual passages are inoffensive by contemporary standards and artistically justified. The book portrays a black preacher who led a slave revolt in Virginia in 1831, the most serious uprising US history, and demonstrates the evils of racism. The High School librarian said the book was accidentally was placed among junior high school books.  If you are a collector a banned books, "The Confessions of Natt Turner" is one you want on your library shelf.
