1979 GOOD AS GOLD Joseph Heller Hardcover Dust Jacket BCE

Regular price $32.00

This is a 1979 book club edition of GOOD AS GOLD by Joseph Heller. Published by Simon & Schuster. It is a hardcover with a dust jacket in very good condition showing minor wear. There are signs of mildew at the top edge of the pages. The binding is sound and there aren't and obvious signs of inscriptions, marginalization or dog eared pages.

Joseph Heller is most famously known for writing Catch-22. Catch-22 has had multiple banning attempts. It was successfully banned in Ohio, where the book was removed from a school library in 1972. The primary reason was profane language.  The book was also challenged in Texas and Washington in 1979. The challenge in Washington was raised due to the many references to women as “whores.” if you are a collector of banned books, any book by Joseph Heller such as "Good as Gold" is an excellent selection for your library.
