This is a first edition hardcover copy of The Help by Kathryn Stockett, it has a full line number. The dust jacket is in excellent condition. The boards are white with a yellow spine and are structurally sound along with the interior pages. There aren't any obvious signs of highlighting, inscriptions or dog-eared pages.


The Help is by author Kathryn Stockett and was published in 2009. This is a controversial story about African Americans working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi, during the early 1960s. Ablene Cooper, the longtime nanny for which the story is based on, filed a $75,000 lawsuit because she was upset by how the book characterized maids during that time period. If you are a collector of banned books, this is one you will want on your library Shelf.
