Considered the greatest graphic novel in the history of the medium, The Watchmen chronicles the fall from grace of a group of superheroes plagued by all-too-human failings. According to the ALA, The Watchmen has been challenged twice on the grounds it was not age appropriate for the library. The reasons for this could have been violence (including an attempted rape) and use of profanity. If you are a collector of banned books, this is one you will want to have on your shelf.
