2024 ALICE IN WONDERLAND "White Rabbit" 8x10 Matted Original Art
This is an original painting by Karen Strum using 3D dimensional paint in August 2024. Using techniques she learned as a henna artist working on Clearwater Beach, she designed this multi-colored line art rendition of The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. The artwork measures 5" wide and 7" inches tall. It has been mounted on a 8x10 foam board. It is designed to fit inside your choice of standard 8x10 portrait frames. It has a double mat cut to fit those measurements. The information for the painting is attached to the back of the piece. It is stored in a clear, sealed plastic sleeve for protection.
The White Rabbit is significant in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland because he's the character who initially leads Alice down the rabbit hole. The White Rabbit, with his waistcoat, pocket watch, and anxious "I'm late!" pronouncements prompts Alice's curiosity and ultimately her descent in Wonderland. In 1931, the governor of China's Hunan Province, General Ho Chien, banned "Alice in Wonderland". He believed the book's anthropomorphic animals, such as the White Rabbit, was "disastrous" for children, arguing that animals shouldn't use human language. All great books tend to be controversial.
