Tattoos & Art
Karen Strum is a tattoo and fine artist. Temporary tattoos use Black Jagua Gel and Red Henna Paste which look real but only last about two-four weeks on the skin.
Some of the framed tattoos below are on pieces of suede or synthetic leathers. The pigskins are washed at least once during the process of tattooing which causes the inks to transfer to other areas of the leather. The watercolor paintings are on canvas, while the soft pastels use an archival sand paper.
I design artwork using retro imagery and vintage color palettes that add charm whether it is a comic, book cover, or tattoo.
