Adaptive Sailing Events & Instruction With Heart
I believe sailing is more than just catching the wind—it's about finding stillness in motion, courage in challenge, and joy in the unknown. For over a decade, I’ve served as a sailing instructor and event coordinator for organizations that bring the magic of the water to people who might not otherwise experience it.
As board secretary and certified instructor with Sailability Greater Tampa Bay, I helped organize adaptive sailing events for individuals with physical and cognitive challenges. From private regattas for veterans and Wounded Warriors to community days with the Special Olympics and Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, I’ve helped create events that are both inclusive and unforgettable.
Safety, heart, and a sense of adventure are at the core of what I offer. I’ve been trained to handle emergency situations, unpredictable weather, and even the occasional wayward boom—all while making sure everyone on board is having a great time and learning something new.
One of my favorite projects is the Never Say Never Pirate Camp, a partnership between Sailability and the Never Say Never Foundation. Every year, amputee and challenged youth come together to learn sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding—and yes, even how to party like pirates. We study navigation, rig boats, engage in epic water battles, and sail on authentic pirate ships, proving again and again that limitations don’t define what’s possible.
Before moving to Florida, I got my sea legs helping to plan regattas for the Indianapolis Sailing Club. I worked the safety boats, helped design the courses, and promoted the events to other one-design fleets. I also created marketing materials and a website for the Indianapolis Sailing Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to introducing kids to the water and teaching them to sail.
