ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR 2020 Optimism Horse And Moon

Regular price $200.00

This is one of my original watercolor pieces, and I call it "Optimism." It features a horse, the moon, and a symbol that represents the theme behind the title. Underneath the image, I hand-lettered one of my favorite quotes by Mizuta Masahide, a 17th-century Japanese poet and samurai:

“My barn having burned down, now I can see the moon.”

That line resonates with me—probably because I have a background in philosophy (yep, I’ve got a BA in it) and a brown belt in Hapkido.

The linework in the painting comes from my experience as a henna artist on Clearwater Beach and from the time I was licensed to do permanent tattoos. It all kind of came together in this piece.

The painting is on an 11x14 canvas and ready to pop into a frame of the same size. It's currently stored in a clear, sealed acrylic sleeve to keep it safe.
