This is the 1906 Medallion Hardcover Edition of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde , including The Merry Men and other Tales and Fables by Robert Louis Stevenson as published by Current Literature Publishing Co. The boards are in excellent condition with only light wear to the head and tail of the spine. The binding is cracked at the 3rd page, but it is still structurally sound. Page #311 is loose and included.

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a gothic novella by Robert Louis Stevenson. The story is about Dr. Jekyll, who is a kind and respected doctor struggling with repressed evil urges. He creates a potion that he believes will control his dark side but instead transforms him into his alter ego, Mr.  Hyde. The story is important because it explores the duality of human nature and the conflict between good and evil. While it was never banned, it did generate controversy due to its exploration of the dark side of human nature, which was considered shocking for Victorian sensibilities at the time.
