1967 THE CHOSEN Chaim Potok 1st Ed 4th Print Hardcover Dust Jacket

Regular price $100.00

This is a 1967 first edition, fourth printing, hardcover copy of "The Cosen" by Chaim Potok which was published by Simon and Schuster. The dust jacket has small pieces missing from the top and bottom of the spine. It has been placed in a clear archival wrapper for protection. The binding is sound even though the boards show discoloration. The pages are decle edged, and there aren't any obvious signs of marginalization or dog-eared pages.

In tracing the friendship of two religious adolescent boys influenced by their fathers, Potok offers insight into the challenges of faith facing the American Jewish community in the wake of the Holocaust. Though Potok disagrees, many critics believe the conflict between Hasidic tradition and American secular modernity is the central theme of The Chosen. If you celebrate the freedom to read and enjoy books that promote religious diversity, this fourth printing hardcover of "The Chose" would make an excellent addition to your library.
