"Follow the Yellow Brick Road" – Framed Original 3D Painting Inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Regular price $100.00

This original piece, titled Follow the Yellow Brick Road, was born from a fusion of nostalgia, philosophy, and artistry. Completed in September 2024, it features Dorothy and her iconic companions—rendered in vibrant dimensional paint—walking the legendary Yellow Brick Road. I used the same line-art techniques I honed over years as a henna artist on Clearwater Beach, channeling that free-spirited, beachside creativity into something that bridges fantasy and empowerment.

Measuring 7" x 5", this painting is mounted on a 10" x 8" foam board with a custom double mat, and housed in a sleek black wood frame. On the back, you’ll find detailed information about the piece—because art should speak to both the eyes and the mind.

My inspiration? L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a book that struck a chord with me not only for its fantastical world but also for Dorothy—an early icon of female leadership. That message was so ahead of its time that the book was banned from Chicago libraries in 1928 for being “ungodly.” And yet, it endured. Much like Dorothy herself, the story reminds us that courage, intellect, heart, and home are always within reach—we need only take that first step down our own yellow brick road.

This painting is both a tribute and a philosophical meditation—on journeys, identity, and the quiet power of choosing your own path.
