“River Watch: Jaguar in the Flow” – Original Pastel Art, Matted 16x20
This original pastel painting is my tribute to the wild elegance of the jaguar—an animal that moves like a whisper but sees like a philosopher. Measuring 11x14 inches and nestled in a crisp 16x20 white mat, this piece is ready to slip into your favorite frame (or lean mysteriously against a bookshelf while it contemplates its future). It arrives in a clear protective sleeve, safe and smug until you decide where it belongs.
Rendered with high-quality soft pastels on sanded archival paper, the texture pulls you into the moment: a jaguar delicately testing a rock mid-stream, surrounded by swirling, sun-dappled water and ancient driftwood. The kind of scene where time slows and instincts take the lead—something I think we humans could learn from.
Big cats have prowled through my heart and artwork for years, ever since I helped raise funds for Big Cat Rescue (yes, that Big Cat Rescue, the one that inspired the Tiger King documentary storm). But long before the Netflix buzz, I was drawn to the real mission—helping these animals reclaim their dignity, their space, and their silence.
This piece celebrates that spirit—fierce, thoughtful, and very much alive.
