Sun & Moon Harmony Tattoo – Large Jagua Henna Design with Doves, Bats & Star

Regular price $75.00

This large 5x5 jagua tattoo is one of my original designs, featuring the sun and moon entwined in the center, with doves and bats flying in a circular pattern around them. A delicate star dangles from the tip of the moon, tying everything together.

When I created this piece, I was thinking about balance—like yin and yang—but I used the sun and moon since they’re such iconic elements in henna art. The doves and bats continue that theme of opposites, representing day and night, light and shadow. The star in the center symbolizes unity and harmony between those contrasts.

I use jagua gel for this design—a natural ink from a fruit that grows in the Amazon. It stains the skin a deep blue-black and has been used for centuries by Indigenous communities. The tattoo takes a little over an hour to apply, plus drying time.

Aftercare is important! The design will feel wet for about an hour unless you use a fan to speed things up. Let it sit for 3–6 hours before washing it off. At first, it might look invisible—that’s totally normal. The color will deepen over the next 24 to 48 hours.

If the gel starts to flake while it’s drying, a light spritz of hairspray can help hold it in place. And if you’re heading to bed without rinsing it off, make sure to cover the area—otherwise it might transfer to your skin or your sheets.

I can meet you at several locations around Tampa Bay for your session. Just send me a message before placing your order so we can coordinate a time and place that works for both of us!
