Music Helps Artists and Gardens Grow

Gardening Music

Did you know that music helps plants grow? Some studies indicate that jazz music will produce better and more abundant growth on plants. The science television show MythBusters did a similar experiment and concluded that plants reacted well to any type of music, whether rock, country, jazz, or classical.

Music also helps artists grow. A new study suggests that listening to happy music promotes more divergent thinking—a key element of creativity. When your creativity is bubbling, you grow as an artist. So, do a little en plein aire painting in your garden and crank up that old time rock-n-roll.
