Fahrenheit 451 was first published in 1953. Often regarded as one of his best works, the novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found. Collectors of banned books love this novel because it's a book about censorship, and there have been numerous instances of people challenging it. A parent filed a formal request to ban the classic at their child's school in 1953 because of profanity and using Gods name in vain. She also had concerns about Bradbury including sex, drugs, suicide, murder, and abortion in the book.
