1963 TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Harper Lee 7th Printing 24th Impression Hardcover DJ

Regular price $130.00

This is a vintage hardcover edition of Harper Lee's timeless classic, "To Kill a Mockingbird". It is a 7th printing, 24th impression, featuring a price-clipped dust jacket with a brand new clear archival sleeve for perfection. The book is in good condition, with some expected wear and tear due to its age. There is a date on the front end page and a stain on the inside of the back cover.  The binding is intact and the pages are clean.

The book was first published in 1960 and it has a long history of censorship. The book explores themes of racial injustice, gender roles, and the loss of innocence. It has been challenged for the depiction of violence, offensive language, and racism. The story is told from the perspective of 6-year-old Jean Louise Finch, whose attorney father defends Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman, in court during the Great Depression. If you are a banned book collector, this Pulitzer Prize-winning classic is an excellent addition to add to your library.
